thinkingParticles 6.5 for 3ds Max 2015-2017

Artikel 3ds Max, Artikel Cebas, Artikel Destruction, Artikel Simulation, Artikel Thinking Particles, Artikel VFX,
[ #Cebas #3dsMax #Simulation ]
Cebas Visual Technology has announced thinkingParticles the latest Subscription Drop 5 update now available. Valued Users can immediately download and avail to the many new and powerful operators and enhancements from their Cebas Product Manager.

Drop 5 Main New Operators:
• VolumeBreaker new Clustering effect - Paint and Smash ‘em!
• ShapeNoise - Deformation at your command!
• FlowEmitter new Particles Generator for fluid simulation.
• ParticleLight effects - Own it ! Procedural controls.
• HydroField flow ‘collisions’ and realistic foaming effects

>> See Also: thinkingParticles Tutorial | thinkingParticles Video

VolumeBreaker: paint and smash
VB Clustering gives you the flexibility to set fragment particles into different breakage cluster and make them appear more natural or have specific patterns.
The introduction of a breakable map allows for more creativity in deciding which areas should undergo a destruction. Procedurally-created volumeBreaker cells can be now merged with an existing raster to get a more homogenous look to the fragments.

ShapeNoise: deformation at your command!
Call it procedural deformation if you will, with this new addition, ShapeNoise Operator gives you the power to add a deformation to any particle shape’s area and edges. This operator offers many features to control and modify how a particle shape (mesh) can be displaced or changed in a way that enhances the look and feel of a VB broken mesh debris, right to each and every particle. While the main function of this operator is to work in conjunction with volumeBreaker, it may also be used with any type of particle mesh including fluids or instanced geometry.

FlowEmitter: consistency and flexibility in fluid effects
FlowEmitter resolves a current effects challenge in the market, that is how to achieve constant flow of fluid particle effects in an animation. With TP 6.5’s FlowEmitter, even with changes in the rate of particles generated, constant flow is now achieved, while preserving the distance between each particle. Visually, the FlowEmitter gives producers and the VFX artists a quick and powerful operator to create and modify realistic flowing or pouring effects in liquid simulations.

ParticleLight: Omni lighting with shadows
PLight - for a visual artist, lights play an important role in any animation or visual effects setup. Controlling lights is key to making awesome shots and creating depth and character in visuals. Now, thinkingParticles 6.5 will give you the power to control lights in a 3d scene, in more than one way. The PLight Operator can turn any particle into a real Omni light type along with proper shadow casting.
There are several amazing helpers attached to PLight for fast and easy controls including ColorGradient, a useful node to control lights and materials through procedural setups. You can also control the light animation or distribution with distance and velocity values.

HydroField flow ‘collisions’ and realistic foaming effects
ThinkingParticles 6.5 enhanced HydroField means more Fluid and Rigid Body ‘collisions’ with much better buoyancy and interaction. Physically-accurate transfer of momentum between fluid particles and rigid bodies is resolved and can be seen in real time simulation. The enhanced Multi-Physics Objects engulfed within a fluid will start to rise or sink depending on their specific physical properties, and all these values are adjustable in more than several ways.
HydroField is also enhanced with a new impact behavior for splashes. Splashes can now be used to create Hydrofield surface interactions and splash particles can be used to add volume to a Hydrofield.

Artikel Download, Artikel GeoTracker, Artikel NUKE, Artikel VFX,
[ #NUKE ]
GeoTracker is a Nuke plugin for model-based single view object and camera tracking.

>> See Also: Premultiplication workflows in NUKE

Main Features

  -Accurate tracking of rigid objects.
-Easy to use. Only important user-dependent parameters are shown in the UI while a lot of hidden parameters are intelligently calculated internally.
-Fast. GeoTracker was developed while working on a film that required a lot of match moving. The crucial task was to speed up the tracking process as much as possible. We believe that GeoTracker significantly reduces the amount of “manual labor”.
-GeoTracker makes it possible to create and adjust tracking information right inside The Foundry Nuke. It can shorten your workflow significantly. You don’t need to switch between applications and perform export/import when some inaccuracies are detected.
-Native. It’s created using all strengths and possibilities of The Foundry Nuke API.
-It’s just a beginning. When using GeoTracker, please keep in mind that it’s only a beta version
What’s New in Beta v5.0
-Changed node type: GeoTracker is geo node now. GeoTracker's output can be used directly and results can be viewed in 3D in the native way.
-Default camera: connecting default camera node is no longer reqired for tracking, positioning, e.t.c. Now an internal default camera, which can be easily exported, is used.
-Minor interface changes and performance improvements.

Thinkbox Frost MX 2.0 for 3ds Max 2012 - 2017

Artikel 3ds Max, Artikel Frost MX, Artikel Motion Graphic, Artikel Thinkbox Software, Artikel VFX,
[ #3dsMax ]

Thinkbox Software has announced the availability of Frost MX 2.0, a major update to the fast and flexible plug-in for Autodesk 3ds Max. A go-to tool for meshing particles and fluid simulations for many artists, Frost MX 2.0 nearly doubles the performance of previous releases, integrates more deeply with Chaos Group’s V-Ray and introduces new workflow improvements for greater ease of use. Thinkbox has also launched the beta for Frost MY 2.0, the Autodesk Maya version of the plug-in.

>> See Also: Thinkbox Frost Basic tutorials

With up to twice the speed in particle meshing modes, Frost MX 2.0 allows artists to increase productivity and complete jobs more quickly. Its integration with V-Ray v3.1 and higher enables customizable particle scattering for distributing and rendering millions of mesh instances in Custom Geometry meshing mode. The new V-Ray Instancing mode leverages dynamic memory allocation to render millions of high-resolution meshes with very low memory overhead. Frost MX 2.0 continues to support all Custom Geometry features in V-Ray Instancing mode, including particle channel propagation, material and shape ID controls, animation timing offsets and motion blur from particle velocity. Coupled with the advanced particle generation and Magma data channel manipulation capabilities offered by Thinkbox’s Krakatoa MX, which is available at no extra cost via the License-Free mode, the V-Ray Instancing feature offers a whole new world of power and flexibility to Frost users.

“The latest version of Frost is a massive leap forward in terms of speed. By stripping away much of the computational burden traditionally associated with data-heavy particle meshes and fluid simulations, we’re enabling artists to work more dynamically and see their work come to life more quickly,” said Chris Bond, founder, Thinkbox Software.

Additionally, the new region of interest option in Frost MX 2.0 lets users easily define a custom bounding box region that can be applied to Viewport meshing for faster previews while adjusting settings of complex particle data sets, to remove unwanted areas in Render-time meshing, or both. A dedicated Frost menu bar has been added to 3ds Max’s main menu for faster access to major features such as creating Frost objects, auto-adding new sources to a Frost object, accessing the Log window, and mass-changing the meshing mode of selected Frost objects.

Frost MX 2.0 is available for 64-bit versions of 3ds Max from 2012 to 2017, and requires an updated license. Additional information is available here. For beta access to Frost MY 2.0, email Thinkbox Software

The new OFX plug-in capability now gives artists running The Foundry’s Nuke and Blackmagic Design’s Fusion Studio the added capability to launch mocha Pro directly from the host application for an efficient visual effects workflow. mocha Pro 5 plug-in for OFX is available on Windows, OS X and Linux operating systems.

“Compositors are loving the improvements found in the new mocha Pro plug-in,” says Ross Shain, CMO of Boris FX and Imagineer Systems. “We’ve updated the planar tracking algorithm to take advantage of OpenCL video processing and speed increases on high resolution projects are tremendous.” Shain continues, “While mocha has played a role in VFX projects for years, the ability to now launch directly as an OFX host plug-in helps artists quickly access tools for advanced tracking, roto, object removal and image stabilization without the added hassle of managing multiple applications and projects. Jumping back and forth between mocha and Nuke or Fusion has never been easier.” Imagineer’s partners and customers are also appreciating the new OFX plug-in.
“mocha Pro is well regarded in the visual effects & finishing community as a complementary tool for NUKE users,” says Sean Brice, NUKE product manager at The Foundry. “Imagineer’s new OFX plug-in integration gives NUKE artists the option to work with mocha within a
NUKE project, streamlining the mocha and NUKE workflow.
According to Brigitte Bourque, Digital Effects Supervisor at award-winning studio FuseFX, “mocha Pro is an essential tool in our NUKE pipeline. The compositor is the steward of the work we are entrusted with. That means getting the work out on time and on budget. Every one of our compositors uses mocha Pro to help make that happen.”
