[ #Animation #3dsMax ]Written by Clovis Gay, OverMorpher PoseSpace is a 3Dsmax plugin dedicated to Pose Space Deformation. It is pretty similar to the SkinMorph, Corrective poses driven by your Rig. Except the poses interpolation is more reliable.

The SkinMorph modifier drives the poses depending on the angle between 2 bones. And because of the nature of rotations in 3d softwares and rotation orders, in some cases, the interpolation doesn’t work as expected. Mainly on bones which have more than 1 free angle.
This plugin is based on what is called a Radial Basis Function, and in this case it is a bit simplified. So it doesn’t use angles between poses, but distance between two points, which solves the angle problem, and open new possibilities.

3ds Max Spline Brush

[ #3dsMax ]Max script creator Clovis Gay has shared a video showing his under development tool called Spline Brush for 3ds Max. This tool will allow you to brush any Splines as if they were hairs. At the moment it only works on a 2D scenario, but Clovis plans to convert that in a more 3D environment to add it into the next version of his Fur Guides Painter for 3ds Max. And eventually release it as a separate tool as well.

but most of all your animation efficiency.

You don't need anymore to create additional object to control your rigs, everything is triggered by predefined mesh zones and your mouse movements. So the advantage here is that it doesn't slowdown your scene by adding more elements, and most of all, you can control your rig directly on the mesh, without any visual interference, painful Controller selection or separate UI. So everything becomes very obvious and intuitive.

With this tool you can create Snow exactly where you want, but it could be use for many different things. You can create multiple "Blobs" with different meshing options, and pick them when you want to continue working on it, you can bake it in poly when finished.
