TerrainAxe is a landscape 3D modeling toolkits for 3ds max ,which was writed with MaxScript and mainly contains a lot of polygon tools and some other common functions. With TeerainAxe, you can save a big amount of time, optimize your 3d models and construct excellent topology, etc.

New updates:
• A new selection tool ,SameDirFaces,was added,which can select faces that has same normal as selected face
• RoadlineSys:Road Width parameter can be got after creating road lines.
• The width of road shoulder can be adjusted
• One way road lines can be chosen , median width can be adjusted.
• Fixed a bug that make road lines creating failing at top level of sub-objects.
• ClearDupShps,fixed a bug that duplicated splines can’t be cleared.
• MoveOnDir can work normally.
• AdvArray: The mid-points of ring edges can be used as path to array objects.
• CapEdges:Before,the new polygon can’t be created if endpoints of border share on same edge,but now can.
• MoveVerts:Supplied an option to ignore border vertices when moving vertices.
• Web license type :fixed a bug that can cause TerrainAxe disable when another new 3dsmax window is opened.

SceneTerrain 1.0 for Blender

SceneTerrain-a landscape creation and population plugin for Blender developed by Arnaud Couturier has been released with the first version in the 1.x development cycle. In version 1.0, SceneTerrain comes out with more important features to make them always more user-friendly, getting terrains that are as realistic as possible. Changelog:
• new: populations layers can be added, edited, removed. They are used to control how the populations are distributed on the terrains.
• new: 2 new tree species, with 3 variations for each. The included library is therefore made of 7 species for 21 tree models.
• change: the textures for the terrain material are "point-mapped", and no longer "texture-mapped". This lets you enter directly how many time you want a texture (flat, mountains etc) reapeated on the terrain.
• change: the default seed for the terrain is no longer zero, that means the terrain will not be different each time you generate one, by default. Zero can still be entered manually though.
• change: the detail texture overlays for the terrain flat area, mountains and beach biomes are deactivated by default, because they make it difficult to control the color variations of the texture, and often make them too dark.
• change: the trees from the library have been renamed to include only their common name. Their full name were trimmed by Blender, in addition to being difficult to read. So if you have broken links in your blend files to SceneTerrain's trees, simply re-import them.
• improvement: the seed for the terrain can be randomized with a button, if you just want some random terrain/seed
• improvement: each tree's leaf material is randomized for a slight variation of color. The randomization can be augmented manually for stronger and more varied effects
• improvement: GUI re-organization, the custom terrain shape is accessible from the now-unique shape tab, as an option, and a new export tab is now present for RAW exports, and the coming formats.
• improvement: each population now has a default number of instances, useful to avoid re-entering it in the particle system's settings each time when re-populating the terrain.

The Terrain plugin for 3DS Max allows you to generate landscapes from real world elevation data in a couple of clicks. The plugin makes use of DEM data that is available freely on-line but instead of you having to locate the right DEM file for your needs, patching them together and importing the data manually our plugin allows you to directly set a latitude and longitude coordinate and the plugin will automatically locate the right data and import it into 3DS Max and generate a mesh to your desired level of detail. You are free to drag the location around and zoom in or out and the plugin will fetch any new data it needs and rebuild the mesh automatically. The data will be stored on your system so future alterations will not require data to be re downloaded. The elevation data is sampled at 90m intervals and also for the US you can select 30m interval data for even more accurate terrains.


The plugin allows you to color your mesh based on height with a user customizable color table. The sea level can be changed and you have the option to cap the mesh. At any time you can change the mesh density and you can select to use a given vertex budget or set the distance to use between vertices etc.

Another major feature of the plugin is the ability to use Google Earth to generate textures for your terrains (you should have Google Earth Pro if you plan on using the images for commercial use). You can tell the plugin the resolution of the texture you want to apply to your terrain mesh and it will automatically produce the texture for you.
