Artixels today announced immediate release of a new update of their visual effects plugin suite Escher 1.2 for Nuke

>> See Also: Escher 1.0 For Nuke

This new update extends Escher’s powerful 2.5D toolset to Deep Compositing area. By taking full advantage of multiple samples per Deep pixel, 4 brand new Escher nodes create
exciting relighting possibility which was simply impossible in the past. These Deep relighting tools allow Escher users to relight CGI images rendered with distributed effects, for example depth of field or motion blurred objects. As long as the corresponding Deep normal data are available, Escher users can relight them using highly interactive Image Based Lighting tools of Escher 1.2 for Nuke.

Leading renderers like Arnold, RenderMan and vRay offer support of native deep data AOVs output via OpenEXR 2.0 today, more artists and small studios can explore the potential creative benefits of deep compositing and we would like to contribute our idea about using Deep Normal data for 2.5D relighting with this Escher 1.2 release, let us relight rendered DOF or even motion blurred deep pixels !
