Simply download the plug-in, unzip all the files to the 3dsmax/scripts/startup path on your harddrive and restart 3ds Max. and then you can not only use the plug-in for Renderpeople characters but also for every other 3D object.

The plug-in is capable of resizing JPG, TIF, PNG or TGA files. Simply select any 3D objects in your scene and reduce all of its textures to a smaller resolution of your choice. Of course, relinking the original files is no problem at all.
